About the Project

The 'Open yourself to dialogue' project involved 4 organisations from Poland, Lithuania, Romania and Italy. A total of 40 people participated in the task (10 from each country). The exchange took place in Koninki, Małopolska Voivodeship, from 225.09.-02.10.2016 and was preceded by a preparatory visit (10-11 September 2016) conducted in the same centre where the main part of the project - the exchange - took place.

Project details

The main themes addressed by the young people during the assignment were: social dialogue, religion, ethics, philosophy and national minorities with a special focus on Jewish and Roma issues. During the exchange, the tasks undertaken by the participants were based on the principle of non-formal education. During the exchange, participants took part in discussions, thematic panels, workshops, cultural evenings, outdoor activities, interactions with the local community, etc. The exchange was based on the principle of non-formal education. Thanks to the cooperation with the Ethnographic Museum in Tarnów, the Roma Cultural and Social Association 'Roma Cultural Centre in Poland' and the Foundation for the Preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland, we had at our disposal extremely interesting materials (books, music, guides, props, etc.), which made the tasks carried out as part of the project more attractive.

We have shared the effects of the implemented project with educational institutions, non-governmental organisations, partner institutions and representatives of self-governments, thus becoming ambassadors of dialogue as the most effective form of solving problematic issues. In the long-term perspective, we intend to use the knowledge and skills acquired in the scope of conducting a dialogue and knowledge of issues related to religion, ethics, philosophy and national minorities to work for the benefit of our organisations, in our professional and private lives, not avoiding also formulating common goals for the EU in the international dimension.
